Well here I am , alert and very alarmed. WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT !!At this point I would like all the press ganged Library 2.nothing bloggers to go and read..yes hard copy ..read.. Ben Elton's new book " Blind Faith" , and yes I did watch Stephen Fry's evangelical monologue on the first session..we brook no debate here !!!if you're not with 2.0 then you are brain dead or lazy.!! really ?!! I perceive the creeping tide of a new unchallengable orthodoxy sweep across my hairy hobbit toes !! What great zeal & urgency has been attached to this programme. Could I suggest that a better system of state based library grants for public libraries, and some more effective lobbying on their behalf may be a better use of SLNSW time !!Some serious push with the Premier's dept. to get some extra funding for PRC titles would be admirable, because while we fiddle in the bloggosphere , the state's teachers are attempting to ignite the passion for reading, yes those little paper things...books... by promotion of the PRC reading lists. And then of course there is the ongoing bungling over the RTA online DKtest, and now the TAFE handbook will only be available online..& what are we doing ? collecting stats !!! all these things create extra demand on resources & time & extra equipment..not to worry we have library 2.0 ..thank the deity !!! we may as well be POLISHING FROGS !!!. But perhaps this little polished frog shouldn't bite the hand that casts the ever diminishing crumbs, while poisoning her pond !!, Au Revoir for now , my fellow pilgrims.
